I am scheduled to lead a potentially transformative webinar on "Applying Jewish Values to Help Save the World" on September 2 from 7 to 8:15 PM, Israeli time (12 to 1:15 PM, US eastern time).
The event is organised by Hazon, 'the Jewish Lab for Sustainability,' the largest Jewish environmental organisation in the U.S. and probably the world. They have about 80 rabbis on their rabbinic council.

Climate threats today are becoming more frequent and more severe and climate experts are issuing increasingly dire warnings that the world may have only a few years to make 'unprecedented changes' in order to have a chance of averting a climate catastrophe,. This webinar aims to help efforts to significantly reduce climate threats and thereby to increase prospects of shifting our imperiled planet onto a sustainable path.
I plan to also stress during the webinar that animal-based diets and agriculture seriously violate basic Jewish teachings on preserving human health, treating animals with compassion, protecting the environment, conserving natural resources, helping hungry people, and pursuing peace.
I also plan to respectfully urge the many rabbis who will be attending to address climate threats and the moral issues related to animal-based diets during their high holiday sermons and beyond.
If we are to have a chance at leaving a decent world for future generations, it is essential that averting a climate catastrophe become a central focus for the Jewish community and others. There is no planet B.
Please attend the webinar and use it to increase awareness of the urgency of reducing climate threats and of the importance of shifts toward vegan diets in efforts to accomplish this. Also, please share this message with others who might be interested and encourage them to attend the webinar.
